Core Sample Testing Information
Why should I do core testing?
“I have been coated with tar, over sprayed with paint primer, covered with vinyl asbestos tile, scrubbed clean with strong acidic chemicals, submerged in flood waters, run over by oil-leaking fleet vehicles, sprinkled with deicing salts, and sawed in half ….. twice!” (-Interview with a Concrete Slab)
If concrete slabs could talk we would know their complete history, and be aware of past events that might impact the application of VAPORTIGHT COAT-SG products. Fortunately, there is a relatively simple way to pinpoint many of the troublesome conditions that can lead to a coating failure: Core sample testing.
We recognize that core sample testing requires additional time and money, but we believe it is well worth it to ensure a strong, durable, long-lasting coating application. We also believe that our clients, customers, end-users, and building owners deserve the ultimate protection and high-performance that they have come to expect from Aquafin products.

Testing Companies:
Aquafin recommends all core sample testing be done by a 3rd party independent testing company. Here is an example of a company that can provide the required testing. If you wish to use another company please verify their qualifications and contact Aquafin Technical Services for confirmation.
